This Week

Tuesday - When we first moved into our house (four years ago), there was a shower stall in the laundry room, in the basement.  We have had issues with it from day one.  Once, my husband and his step-dad had to take the whole thing apart and put a new drain in because it got clogged so often.  It was also a huge pain to walk down the basement steps every morning, half-awake.  I started having this fear that one day when I'm pregnant I'll be walking down to take a shower and trip on the stairs because I'm so big and tired.  Last week one of the water pipes leading to the shower started spewing water out on the basement floor, and I think we had both just had it.  My husband started talking about how he could go about fixing it, but we both knew that we would just rather have a shower upstairs.  We toyed around with the idea of buying a shower kit and installing it ourselves, but I just decided to call a plumber one day, get an estimate, and have it done by a professional.  Now we have an upstairs shower and I'm so happy!  It's so much more convenient!

Today - We are going to The Dark Knight Rises tonight for one of the midnight showings!  This is only the second midnight showing I have ever gone to.  The first one was The Hunger Games.  I got pretty tired at that one, but it was a lot of fun.  Every summer I always feel like I should maximize on my free time, so I really enjoy doing things I wouldn't normally do (or have time for) during the school year.

I bought an ovulation predictor kit last week, knowing that I would be able to start testing this week.  I started testing on Monday because I wasn't sure how long my cycle was.  With all of the mid-cycle spotting I've had, it has been hard to pin down the length of my cycle.  I also wasn't sure if I was ovulating at all since I had been on birth control for so long and just stopped taking it in early June.  Yesterday, I saw a faint line on the ovulation predictor stick.  Today the line was much darker!  It felt great to see that I am ovulating and I'm so happy I bought the kit.

Friday and Saturday - We're going to watch my brother perform with his band at a local bar.  This takes me back to my college days when my husband was in a band and would perform at the same bar.  The major difference is that my husband was in a pop/rock band and my brother is in a heavy metel/screamo band.  In fact, he told us to bring earplugs.  Hopefully this is just a phase for my brother!

On Saturday, we're going out of town to have dinner with some college friends.  I'm looking forward to eating at a restaurant we've never been to before.  It will also be nice to catch up and see what everyone's been up to.  I might even buy a new outfit just for the occasion!
