Age: 16 Months (as of October 6)
Stats: At her 16-month doctor's appointment she was 20 lbs. 11 oz. and 33 1/2 inches long. If it seems like she lost weight since my last update it's just because our scale isn't as accurate at home as it is at the doctor's office. Plus, at home we just hold her while we stand on our regular scale and then subtract our weight from it. Also, at the doctor's office, she is naked when she's weighed. That's why I hate at-home measurements...they're not always very accurate.
Clothes: Most shirts and all onesies are 18 months. I can tell we're going to have to move to 24-month/2T shirts and onesies soon because the 18-month stuff is getting too tight. Ava is at a weird, in-between stage with pants, though. The 12-month pants are too small, but the 18-month ones are too big around the tummy and a little too long. She wears 18-month stuff, we just roll the pants up a little at the bottoms.

Favorite Foods: Ava still is a really good eater. She will try anything. She won't always like it, but most times she will. Here are some of the foods that we have on a regular rotation right now: yogurt, cheese, grapes, peas & carrots, macaroni and cheese, quiche, pasta with tomato sauce (loves cooked/canned tomatoes), mushroom and beef stroganoff, eggie-weggie (egg and cheese) burritos, raspberries, blueberries, grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches, pasta salad, turkey dogs, homemade pizza, apples, banana bread, and apple-cinnnamon muffins.
In related news, Ava can drink from a straw now. She has always loved playing with my tumblers and straws and one day she finally got some water out of my straw. So we bought her some straw sippys and she loves them. She loves carrying around her cup of water. This made me feel like she's almost a toddler now!

Favorite Words: Ava is talking so much! She parrots everything we say. I'm now keeping a list of words she says each day. We've got all kinds of things on there, like: mama, daddy (which she pronounces "daaeeey"), baa, off, up, poo poo, no-no, hop, hot, bye, hi, woof-woof, trees, five, the letters: "s" and "f". Ava has a little lisp when she says "s." It's so cute!
| Mom! This is a very important phone call! |
Favorite Activities: swing, give high-fives, blink (which she thinks is winking), have mommy or daddy chase her as she crawls around. We have to say "I'm going to get you" and then tickle her when we finally catch up. Even though she's not walking yet, she is soo fast at crawling! Ava also loves to give kisses right now. It's so sweet because she puckers up her lips and leans in anytime we say, "Ava, can I have a kiss?"
| I LOVE this picture! It's so hard to catch Ava smiling, so I really treasure this one! |
Least Favorite Activities: Diaper changes, having to stop playing, going to bed (sometimes she fusses about this, sometimes she welcomes sleep, it just depends). Overall, Ava is still very well-behaved and laid-back. We love her easy-going personality!
