This morning as I was getting ready for work, I called my OBGYN to see if they had the results yet. This was literally at 8:00 am when I knew their office would be open. A nurse said that they had the results, but that my doctor still had to review them and then they would call me. I waited all morning, with my phone glued to my hip, and nothing. Finally, during my lunch break I called them and got ahold of a nurse. She said, "Well, everything came back normal and your hemoglobins look great." I was like, "Sooo, does that mean I'm pregnant?" She laughed and said, "Oh, you don't know yet?" I said no that no one had called me. She said yes I am pregnant and my hCG levels were 551. All I knew at that moment was that 551 was a big number and I was so happy to hear from a professional that I really was pregnant!
Later, I found a website that had a great chart on it that explained the hCG levels. Check it out here: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :
- 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
- 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
- 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
