Favorite Foods: Ava is eating so many table foods now! We have come a long way since my last post. It's pretty amazing how much can change in just 1 month! Ava has 4 teeth, although I think the top two are still descending. Ava is a good eater and loves all kinds of things. The only thing she doesn't voluntarily grab are her veggies, so I end up sneaking some in when I can. Some of her favorite foods are: meatloaf muffins, turkey lunchmeat, colby/jack cheese sticks, mixed fruit cups, yogurt, macaroni and cheese (still), cheese quesadillas, fresh blueberries, corn bread, and grapes.
Favorite Words: Ava tries to say pretty much any word we say. I can tell that she's very curious about what things are called. She listens closely when we talk and makes a kind of "huh?" sound when she wants something repeated. Then she'll repeat the word (as best as she can) back to us. A lot of times she'll say the ending sound of a word, but now I'm hearing her say more middle sounds, too. Some of her favorite words are: hi (this one is the newest and it is soooo cute!), teeth, up, dada, and mama. Since Ava had to go back to daycare (and I had to go back to work) this week she is saying "mama" a lot more now because she wants me to hold her and of course I love to hear her say it because I miss her just as much and love her snuggles!
Favorite Activities: taking a bath (she has learned how to make big splashes), rolling a ball back and forth to someone else, playing with her magnetic letters on the fridge, "riding" in the laundry basket, and taking lids off of stuff and putting them back on.
Least Favorite Activities: Diaper changes, waiting to be fed in the morning, when a toy won't do what she wants it to. I am happy to say that Ava's stranger anxiety is almost gone. I honestly can't believe she's pretty much gotten over it in just a month. Everything I've read says it's typical for this to last until 18 months. We'll see if it crops back up, but so far so good.
