Ava is 19 months old!

Age: 19 months (as of January 6)

Clothes:  18-24 months pants, 24 month and 2T shirts

January 6 - the day Ava turned 19 months
Favorite Foods:  Some favorites right now are:  halos (mandarin oranges), Chex cereal, hot dogs (made with turkey), macaroni and cheese, applesauce, quesadillas made with refried beans, peas, pasta with diced tomatoes, strawberries, blackberries, tacos, mashed potatoes, grilled cheese, yogurt, and graham crackers.  Ava will randomly shout, "cracker!" while she's eating.  She only gets graham crackers occasionally after dinner, but man does she love them!

Favorite Words:  Ava is still our little chatter box.  I think she gets it from her mommy and daddy.  :)  She is picking up more on songs now, too.  She will command us to sing her favorite songs during breakfast and in the car.  She especially loves, "The Wheels On The Bus" which she calls "round round," "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" which she calls "row row," and that song from Snow White where the dwarves are singing, I call it "Hi, Ho" and Ava calls it "ho ho."

Here are some of her favorite words:  whoa, baby, owl, hop hop (stuffed animal bunny), hair bow, hair tie, dastuhs (downstairs), play, opus (open), mommy, daddy, eat, cracker, poo poo, bye bye, night night, walk, happy, woof woof, mess (messy), trash, Presley, Elsa, Collie (which means Collin), Karsten, Luhluh (London), Aleigh, milk, water, snow, rain, sunny, cold, nose, mouf (mouth), eyes, errs (ears), herr (hair), face, chest, knee, elbow, arm, belly, nice, no no, Ahvah (Ava), car, pampaw (Grandpa), GG, all done, shoe, sock, brush, teeth, paste (toothpaste), tiss (kiss), bottle, hot, blow, turtle, tiger, roar, bear, Chex.

Ava has been saying "Mommy!" when we put her to bed and I say, "It's okay, Mommy loves you.  Night-night."  She'll say it a couple more times after we shut the door, but then she'll lay down and go to sleep.  A couple nights ago we went through this same routine, but then she added a "Daddy!" on for the first time.

Favorite activities:  Ava is ALL about babies right now.  She got four new baby dolls for Christmas and then there are some at daycare, too.  She's also obsessed with the real babies at daycare!  In the morning when we're all sitting at the dining room table eating breakfast, I say, "Ava, who are you going to see today?" and she always says the babies' names first.  There are only two at daycare right now that are younger than her and she loves both of them.  They're both between 5-6 months old.  Our daycare lady told me that she was giving one of them a bottle today and Ava just couldn't stop staring.  She has a baby that came with a bottle that my mom got her for Christmas and she pretends to feed her baby at home.  She also loves putting her babies in our bed and says, "baby.  bed.  blanket.  night-night."  Oh it's so sweet.  I had no idea that she would love babies this much and at such an early age.
Walking up to daycare one morning.  She says, "walk!" before we even get out of the car

Ava still loves reading books.  Some of her favorite books right now are, "Little Polar Bear," which she calls "bear," "1,2,3 Peas," which she calls "peas," and "Goodnight Moon," which calls "moon."  Ava also loves walking around everywhere and opening and closing doors.  She is also still very curious about the snow.  Every morning she asks about it, saying "snow?"

Opening and shutting her bedroom door

Least favorite activities:  So I tried to go to the bathroom one time with the door shut and Ava wailed, "Mommy!?" and plopped down in front of the door and just cried (with actual tears coming out and everything).  I kept talking to her and trying to reassure her, but when I opened the door she gave me this look like, "Why would you do that?  Don't you want to play with me?  Don't you want me with you all the time forever?"  That face just made me feel horrible.  So now I'm back to just leaving the door open all the time.

Ava still hates wearing socks, shoes, a coat, hats, and gloves.  She'll put up with it for a little bit, but it all comes off in the car.  She thinks it's hilarious now, she laughs and throws her socks and shoes everywhere!

Daddy was tickling Ava and got this cute grin :)
