Best moment this week: We had our 11-week appointment on Friday and it was wonderful!  My husband came with me and I took the whole day off of work.  The nurse weighed me, took my blood pressure, then got out the doppler to hear the baby's heartbeat.  I didn't realize that we were going to hear the heartbeat at the very beginning of the appointment.  I made my husband record it so I could watch it later.  The nurse found my heartbeat first, then she moved the doppler and found the baby's.  It was amazing!  It was very fast and made a whooshing sound.  We all listened to it for a minute, then the nurse told me it was 170 "right where it's supposed to be."  All I could say was, "Wow."  I was just surprised it was so fast.  Then the nurse practicioner came in and talked to me about how I was feeling, answered my questions, and then did a pelvic exam so she could take some cultures for various tests.  Our next appointment is in December!

Here's some info. from babycenter.com on pregnancy at 11 weeks:

How your baby's growing:

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.
