Guess What!

We're pregnant!!!  I'm so excited I can't sleep!  I woke up at 5:00 am and I'm not sure if it was the thunder or the fact that I had to pee, but after laying in bed awake for the last hour and a half, I'm up for good now.  All I can think about is everything that has happened in the last couple of days!

On Tuesday I took several First Response pregnancy tests even though I didn't expect my period for another five days.  I just couldn't wait any longer!  There was a second, faint, pink line next to the reference line and I showed it to my husband because I thought I was making it up in my head.  He said that he could see it, too.  We both smiled at each other, but kept saying that we shouldn't get our hopes up in case we were reading it wrong.  On Wednesday I took another First Response test as soon as I woke up that morning and the line had gotten a little darker.  I was getting super excited at this point, but I still really wanted something that just said "You're Pregnant!"  I wasn't feeling any different so I didn't really believe it.  That afternoon I bought a pack of Clearblue digital tests and when I took the first one it said "Pregnant."  OMG! (that's really what I said out loud as I read it :)

My husband just started his part-time job yesterday and was at work until 5:00.  So I spent the afternoon changing our chalkboard and calling my OBGYN.  As soon as my husband got home I took him into the office and showed him the chalkboard.  He read it, looked at me, and said, "Are you really pregnant?"  Then I showed him the Clearblue test and we hugged for a long time.  He said that he was really excited and calm all at the same time.  I could barely stand still, I think I may have even hopped around for a while.  I told him that I hadn't told anyone else except for the doctor and that we have our first three appointments scheduled!  We're doing bloodwork (to confirm the pregnancy again) on Monday, then we have a 10 week appointment with a Nurse Practicioner and a 13 week appointment with my OBGYN.
We ate dinner then my husband said that we should tell our families.  I was still a little hestitant because we hadn't done the bloodwork yet, but we decided to go in person and tell our closest family.  We wrote out cards to each person that said "Congratulations!   You're going to be a _______ (grandma, uncle, great-grandpa, etc.)!  Baby Norman is due April 2013!  We also took pictures of everyone's reactions as they opened their cards.  It was wonderful!  We told my husband's dad and grandma, then my mom and brother, my grandparents, and then my husband's sister and brother-in-law.  Everyone was so happy and kind of in shock just like we were.  I still can't believe that it happend in two months!  We're not telling any friends or co-workers until some more time passes.  I just hope we can both wait 8 more weeks!
Here are some pictures from yesterday:
Yay!!  Thank goodness for digital tests!

3 weeks and 3 days pregnant (and this is probably the only bare belly shot you're going to see, lol)
