Thursday night our A/C went out. My husband and his step-dad spent two days trying to figure out what was wrong in hopes they could repair it themselves. They realized on Saturday afternoon that the compressor went out - this means we need a brand new air conditioner. Being Memorial Day weekend, no one can come and fix it until Tuesday. So, we checked ourselves into a hotel for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night. We're headed back to our house on Tuesday, no matter what. My husband has classes all day Tuesday so I'll be the one to deal with calling around to different companies and trying to schedule someone to come to our house A.S.A.P.! Where we live, it's so hot right now! It's been in the mid-90's since Friday. It is supposed to cool off to 70 degrees on Thursday, but I'm hoping we'll have a new unit by then. Staying in the hotel has been a blast, though.
My 28th birthday was on Friday. We went over to my grandparents house to celebrate with them and my mom. We had dinner and my grandma made me a big chocolate cake...my favorite! :) Saturday morning we went over to my sister-in-law's house to celebrate with my husband's side of the family. We had Panera bagels and I got one of the best presents ever....my sister-in-law got me a mug that says "I <3 my aunt" and has pictures of me with my nephews on it. It's so cute! She has had a mommy mug and her husband has had a daddy mug for a while now, and I've always thought they were adorable. I was so happy to get one for myself! Saturday night we went out to dinner with my friends. It was so much fun. No one seemed to want the night to end, so we went out for drinks afterward and didn't go home (for us, the hotel) until 1:30 am. At my age, it's rare that I stay out that late anymore. It was great, though - I'm so happy I'm on summer break!
I think 28 will be a great age - I definitely feel wiser. I also hope that I will have a lot to look forward to this year!
